What's different about the Sobey School BComm?
Study in a diverse and engaging learning environment that provides you with the tools, skills, support, and perspective to define your own journey. You get to choose your own path and can pursue one or more majors, minors, and other experiential learning opportunities while establishing a core foundation in business fundamentals.
During your first two years at Saint Mary's, we have a recommended set of courses that will give you a strong foundation in a wide range of business concepts. There's also room to choose interesting courses from other faculties. In years three and four, you will have a range of options that will let you customize your degree in ways that appeal to your interests and ambitions. At that point:
- You can choose from the largest number of majors in the region.
- You can take a double major.
- You can choose to do a co-op term or not. Unlike some programs, there is no requirement to do a co-op.
The redesigned BComm offers new courses in sustainability, entrepreneurship and operations management as well as exceptional foundational business courses. Our contemporary curriculum delivers a strong foundation in business fundamentals, inclusive worldview, sustainability and social responsibility practices.

The Sobey’s Inspiration Hub is a remarkable new space for discovery, collaboration and innovation. The space features new classrooms, the university art gallery, research centres, retail labs, maker spaces, project studios and dedicated rooms for student societies.
It is also the new home of two incredible centres of business programming and research: the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre and the David Sobey Retailing Centre.
An informal and engaging open gathering space features an expanded campus store, coffee shop and eateries with space to host a large celebration for up to 100 people.
